Manuel G Contreras (1928-1995) was one of the great luthiers that passed through the Jose Ramirez III's workshop. Striking out on his own in 1962. This guitar was made in what many consider Manuel's best period, when the Romeros used his guitars, and he was engaged in some of his most innovative experiments-- such as the double top. This guitar has been well cared for, and aside from a few nail marks and light scratches near the sound hole, and some bubble in the finish (evident on the back), the guitar is in good shape. No cracks or history of repairs. There is enough bone showing in the saddle to lower the action 1.5mm. PLEASE NOTE: This guitar is in France.
