Rafael Fuentes was born in Valladolid (Spain). He graduated as an electronic engineer from the Polytechnic University School of Valladolid and is an autodidact guitar player. Rafael studied classical and electric guitar construction with the renowned Chilean guitar-maker Marco Buitano, and received additional expert advice from José Luis Romanillos about traditional guitar-making in the style of Antonio de Torres, Santos Hernández and Manuel Ramírez. He now works in the construction and repair of both classical and flamenco guitars at his studio in Valladolid Spain. Rafael combines traditional methods with other more innovative ones. These include the analysis of the physical-mechanical parameters involved in sound, and experimentation with guitar models from various schools and traditions.

This guitar has been listed by the maker and is in new condition. The set up at the 12th fret is 3.5mm and 2.5 mm on the 6th and 1 strings respectively.
