Jean-Baptiste Castelluccia is a third generation luthier, working in Paris. Giambattista Castelluccia who established this workshop was part of a wave of Italian luthiers who came to Paris in the 1940s, opening a shop in 1946. Beginning in 1954, Giambattist's son, Jacques (b.1938), apprenticed with his father, and in 1961 took over. Jacques in turn trained his son, Jean-Baptiste, who by the time he was 13 built his first guitar. In 1998. Jean-Baptiste took over the shop. Having grown up during period of enormos research and innovation focused on the sonority of the classical guitar Jean-Bautiste guitars are not only influenced by his father, and grandfather, but take inspiration from those of Robert Bouchet and Ignacio Fleta. The Model Concertino is made with the finest grade woods available, and employs a new system of carbon reinforced bracing that give this guitar greater power and increased responsiveness. The result is a concert guitar with both great richness of tone, and outstanding balance and clarity.
