Mariano Conde II
Mariano Conde Cavia (b.1957) is a member of the Conde family of guitar makers that descend from Domingo Esteso (1882-1937). His father, Mariano Conde Salamanca (1916-1998), was one of three nephews (the orginal Conde Hermanos) that Domingo Esteso had trained. He began his apprenticeship with his father and uncle Faustino Conde (1913-1988) when he was about 15. In 1980, his father established his own shop on Felipe V-- which following his death, Maurino and his brother Felipe (b.1957) took over working together as the Hermanos Conde until 2010, when each with growing families decided to open their own shops. Mariano's shop is at AmnistÃa 1 in 2010 where he now works with his son, Mariano III.
