Paulino Bernabé Roman (born in 1960) is a worldclass luthier as was his father, Paulino Bernabé Almendariz (1932-2007). Although Paulino literally grew up in his father’s shop, he began formally working with his father in the early 1980s, and they shared a work bench for 30 years. Like his father, Paulino is a not only a superb craftsman, but also an experimenter constantly seeking to improve both construction methods and various sound qualities of the guitar.

The model 20 is built in collaboration with qualified luthiers who work in Bernabe's Madrid workshop, and is constructed entirely by hand using the tools and techniques that traditional luthiers have long used. It is made using carefully selected, fine woods, and built to the highest standards of workmanship.

This guitar is concert level instrument, and offer a bold Spanish sound with all the power the purity and power that one expects in Bernabe guitars. This guitar is built with a double back, an inner cedar top, and exterior bacote back. As a tone wood Bacote is noted for its imparting a warm sound, as well as good sustain and great projection. The firm rounded, clear, mirror-like trebles sing even in the highest registers, and well-balanced against solid, musical basses. It comes strung with Paulino Bernabe P.B. Special Guitar Strings.
