Paulino Bernabe's model Torres is based on an 1864 Torres, "La Suprema". Although the style of this copy is true to the original generally, it isn't stuck entirely in the 19th century, and so incorporates some nice touches, such as Bernabe's new bridge that uses string beads to maintain optimal string angle over the saddle. Its sound is everything one might expect from a master luthier of Bernabe's calibre.· It offers not just an authentic sound, but one that is balanced, has great separation, rich harmonics. The basses are lovely, the mid-range is outstanding, and the trebles truly sing.
