The Spanish luthier Paulino Bernabé (1932-2007) was renowned innovations in design, for his impeccable workmanship, and for to ability to produce instruments of great power and clarity. Because of these qualities his classical guitars are widely used by many concert guitarists and recording artists, such the late Narciso Yepes. Paulino Bernabe was drawn to the guitar and age seventeen began studying with Daniel Fortea, a renowned guitarist and former student of Tarrega. In 1954, Paulino entered the workshop of José Ramirez III and soon rose to become a Ramirez official, working along side of such as Contreras, Manzanero, Mario Tezanos, Antonio Martinez and others many of whom later established their own workshops. During the 1960s, Andres Segovia started playing Ramirez guitars, Paulino was head artisan of the Jose Ramirez workshop and Ramirez began to produce instruments of high quality and in large numbers, resulting in a sort of "Golden Age.”  Ramirez guitars of the 1960s bearing PB initials still are highly sought after by collectors. In 1969, Paulino left the Ramirez workshop to set up his own shop at Cuchilleros No. 8Bernabe is included in Summerfield's list of the finest guitar makers since 1800, his work is avidly sought after by players and collectors alike.In 1974, he received the Gold Medal at the International Crafts Exhibition in Munich. The sound of Bernabé's concert classical guitars are distinct from those made while working for Ramirez, being noticeably less sweet. With robust deep basses and strong trebles, his guitars are not only tonally rich, but  uniquely powerful, clear, and focused, with great sustain, projection and punch.

This guitar is in excellent condition, showing some minor playing wear: a few assorted nail marks, and minor finish abrasions. The guitar come with a Mark Leaf traveling case, long a standard for those want the maximum protection for their guitars.
