Dieter Hopf is a guitar maker in Taunusstein, Germany. He was born in 1936 into a family of luthiers that has made instruments since 1669. After completing his masters in luthiery in 1968, he devoted his energies to developing high quality solo instruments. He has effectively run this family firm since 1981. This model, "La Portentosa Grande Furiosa." is the top of their line of guitars, and currently sells new for approximately, $15,000 US dollars in Germany. This guitar is in the seller's private collection, and is in new condition, having been played not more than 30 to 50 hours.
